Summer Programs

Summer programs at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, are every bit as rigorous and rewarding as the classes taught during the regular sessions of the academic year. Held within the same classrooms, theaters, dance studios, soundstages, editing labs and television studios, our exciting courses are taught by our faculty, many of whom are working professionals in the theater, film and television industry, courses are offered to current UCLA students, non-students, professionals and high school students for college credit.

    Summer Sessions Film Courses Our renowned film faculty teach a wide variety of courses both online and in the classroom. Examples of courses offered are "History of American Motion Picture," "Film Criticism," "Screenwriting Fundamentals" and "Overview of Contemporary Film and Television Industry."

    Summer Screenwriting & Producing Professional Programs The UCLA Professional Programs in Screenwriting and Producing, created in 1994 and 1997 respectively, are graduate-level programs modeled after the widely respected MFA curriculum at the UCLA School of Theater.
