About FTVDM Summer Programs
The UCLA Department of Film, Television, and Digital Media Summer Programs offer students from around the globe an unparalleled opportunity to study filmmaking at one of the most prestigious film schools in the world right in the heart of Hollywood.
UCLA Film & Television Summer Institute:
Here, students experience a summer of hands-on learning, whether they are filming on UCLA sound stages with state-of-the-art equipment, pitching their TV shows to industry professionals, interning with high-level entertainment companies, or capturing their vision frame-by-frame in the animation workshop. All courses are taught by UCLA Film and Television faculty who are active and accomplished in their field.
Department of Film, Television, and Digital Media Summer Courses:
Over the summer, students can achieve their academic goals with a variety of course topics in film, television, and digital media. All prerequisites are waived for UCLA Film, Television, and Digital Media summer courses and students earn UC credit.

Individual Summer Sessions
Film Courses
In our summer film courses, you’ll gain an understanding of stop-motion animation and digital cinematography; get an overview of the contemporary film industry; learn about the evolution of Disney features and more. Courses offered both in-person and online and carry the same unit value as their academic-year counterpart.
