Todd Hawkins

Executive Vice President

Todd A. Hawkins serves as Executive Vice President of The Hawkins Company. A Los Angeles native, he is a multifaceted entrepreneur, strategic consultant, advisor and executive recruiter. Todd has produced, advised, and consulted on numerous events, campaigns, special projects, and initiatives for corporate, entertainment, nonprofit, and political organizations. After graduating from the prestigious Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), Todd attended UCLA on a full merit scholarship and held  leadership positions with the Alumni Scholars Club, Undergraduate Students Association Council, and Cultural Affairs Commission. Todd received his bachelor’s degree in Theater in 2007 with honors from the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television.

While at UCLA, Todd began his career at the Warner Bros. Special Events Department, where he oversaw premieres, corporate events, and charity galas. In 2007, he launched The Todd Group, which quickly became one of the leading event production and management firms in Los Angeles. Todd has received numerous awards and accolades, including BizBash’s “Top 50 Innovative Event Professionals in the U.S.” Todd also volunteered on President Barack Obama’s historic election, after which he was invited to serve as the SoCal Chair of Gen44, the national finance committee for young professionals.

After the success of the reelection campaign, Todd co-founded Hawkins Mikita to pursue his passion for social change and philanthropy. The social impact agency drives innovation for key influencers looking to make a meaningful difference in the philanthropic and political space, such as Cyndi Lauper, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, America Ferrera, Christina Applegate, Jason Mraz, Wilmer Valderrama, Beth Behrs, Chef Roy Choi, and many others.

In 2019, Todd joined The Hawkins Company, as its Executive Vice President. Drawing on a varied background in community engagement, brand management, and advocacy strategy, Todd plays a twofold role at the firm. He concentrates on creating new business opportunities and widening the company’s public engagement and outreach. He also conducts executive searches for entrepreneurial enterprises at the C-suite level, as well as for impact/community-driven nonprofits. The Hawkins Company is recognized as one of the top minority-owned executive recruiting and management consulting firms in the country and has earned acclaim for its impeccable results from publications like The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Black Enterprise Magazine, the Los Angeles Sentinel, and the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Todd has held positions on numerous boards, including arts councils, museums, and civic and educational organizations, where he has chaired and served on various committees. He currently sits on the board of directors of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ rights organization, which works locally, nationally, and globally with industries and governments to advance equality and representation. Todd is the President of the California African American Museum, a position to which the Governor of California appointed him in 2014. He serves on the board of directors of Everybody Dance LA!, which provides quality dance education to over 5,000 youth at 28 locations across under-resourced Los Angeles neighborhoods, and is a member of the MLK Community Hospital Dream Council based in South Los Angeles.

In 2023, Todd was appointed to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ Transition Advisory Team and as co-chair of the Mayor’s Communications Committee. He is a member of Mayor Bass’ re-election finance committee. A trusted community leader who has earned widespread recognition for his advocacy and civic engagement, Todd served as a member of Vice President Kamala D. Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign and continues to serve on the Democratic National Committee’s National Finance Committee. He also serves as a senior advisor to elected officials at the local, state, and national levels.

Todd is a sought-after speaker who addresses national audiences on purpose, diversity and equity in the workplace, community, and the business world.
