Hassan Al-Jahni is a PhD student in Cinema and Media Studies from Qatar. His research focuses on the development of national film cultures in the Arab Gulf, particularly the shift from a broader regional identity to distinct national identities. He explores how government policies, institutions, and training programs shape these cinematic cultures. With a background in film production, Al-Jahni combines scholarship with practice to examine the intersection of media industries, postcolonial theory, and national identity in Gulf cinema. He previously worked as a producer in Doha and served as a lecturer in film and TV production.
