The Skoll Center for Social Impact Entertainment at UCLA TFT not only enhances and compliments the educational experience at UCLA TFT through special initiatives that explore innovative approaches to curricular and pedagogical development for the emerging field of social impact entertainment research and practice, but also provides students, faculty, staff and other relevant parties with resources, grants, fellowships, special workshops, lectures, distinguished visiting artist programs and other unique educational opportunities that enrich and support scholarly and creative work In this arena.

  • LAHSP Trails
    Engage LA With a grant from the Center, ENGAGE LA was a capstone project for TFT Interpretative Digital Media senior undergraduate students. With Los Angeles as the backdrop, students created interactive media works focused on diverse stories around housing, immigration, the environment, and education, accompanied by early-stage social impact campaigns.

    Jake Eberts Fellowship for Social Impact FilmmakingEstablished in 2013, this graduate-level fellowship was created for students to gain hands-on, practical experience in social impact filmmaking at the company responsible for such films as the Academy Award-winning Spotlight, Roma and Green Book.
