
Aaron Edmonds

Aaron Edmonds is Vice President of Film at Hartbeat. Prior to Hartbeat, Edmonds was Vice President of development and production at Lionsgate. While at Lionsgate, he was recognized as one of Hollywood’s New Leaders by Variety Magazine in 2020. He was also a key executive championing The 1619 Project, a portfolio of film, TV and multi-media programming that is being produced by Lionsgate, The New York Times & Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Films. Edmonds also developed a range of different films including the crowd-pleasing comedy, The Valet, and the heartfelt historical drama, Whitebird.
Prior to working at Lionsgate, Edmonds worked at Columbia Pictures and HBO.In 2017 Edmonds was selected as a Film Independent Project Involve Executive Track Fellow where he was awarded the Participant Media Fellowship. He is currently an advisor for Film Independent’s Project Involve Program.
Edmonds holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in Political Science and Comparative Ethnic Studies and a master’s degree from UCLA’s Producers Program. He is currently a lecturer in the Producers Program at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television.
