Note Worthy: A THEA172 Research Project Presentation
Details
Performance dates: December 8 + 9, 2025, 7:00 p.m.
Join the UCLA Department of Theater for a special concert-style presentation of Note Worthy, the THEA172 research project presentation honoring historically underrepresented composers of American musical theater.
This free public event is the culmination of a semester-long exploration, led by Professor Dan Belzer, into the lives and works of female, BIPOC, trans, nonbinary, and other marginalized composers whose contributions have too often gone unrecognized. Students have spent weeks researching these artists, gathering sheet music, crafting a thoughtful narrative, and rehearsing a program that brings their stories and songs to life.
Through live musical selections and shared biographical insights, Note Worthy aims to elevate, celebrate, and give voice to these groundbreaking creators.
No reservations are required—all are welcome to attend and experience this meaningful tribute.
