Crys Lee

M.F.A. Student, Production - Cinematography

Crys Lee (they/she) is a multi-media artist originally born in Germany, but raised in Kansas City. Their decade as a commercial photographer, director, writer, and non-profit arts mentor led them to seek out long-form storytelling as a filmmaker. Previously, Crys spent one year at the LMU School of Film and Television MFA program with a merit scholarship, but pivoted to the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television MFA program for a cinematography concentration under Bill McDonald’s mentorship. Their study is made possible thanks to the Graduate Opportunity Program Fellowship.

Their focus is on women, queer, and multi-racial narratives, both fiction and documentary, and they seek to prioritize accessible film education for underprivileged artists throughout their career.
