Ana Xingqian Wang (she/her) is a costume designer and technical designer originally from Beijing. With a strong foundation in garment construction, textile design, and technical illustration, she specializes in merging traditional craftsmanship with digital tools to create visually compelling and structurally refined costumes. Her work spans from couture techniques to theatrical and film costume production, focusing on how clothing shapes character and narrative.
Currently, she is an MFA student in Theater at UCLA, concentrating on costume design for film and television. Her research explores the intersection of historical tailoring techniques and modern digital fabrication, aiming to preserve traditional craftsmanship while integrating innovative methodologies in storytelling through wardrobe.
She has extensive hands-on experience in couture garment making, textile print design, and technical design, working on projects that require both artistic sensitivity and precise execution. Her work has been recognized in industry showcases, and she continues to explore how costume design can bridge historical artistry and contemporary technology.
