Students & Admissions

UCLA is California’s largest university, with an enrollment of more than 40,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The UCLA College of Letters and Science and the university’s 12 professional schools feature renowned faculty and offer more than 323 degree programs and majors. UCLA is a national and international leader in the breadth and quality of its academic, research, health care, cultural, continuing education and athletic programs. Eight alumni and eight faculty members have been awarded the Nobel Prize.

Film, Television & Digital Media Admissions

The Department of Film, Television and Digital Media offers admission to the undergraduate major and minor, six Masters of Fine Arts programs, and the M.A. and Ph.D. in Cinema Media Studies.

Theater Admissions

The Department of Theater offers admission to the undergraduate major and minor, three Masters of Fine Arts programs, and the Ph.D. in Theater and Performance Studies.

Program Costs

The UCLA Registrar’s Office provides information on annual tuition and fees. Fees shown are flat amounts assessed to all full-time students based on enrollment status (undergraduate cohort, graduate, professional), and program—not on enrolled units. Most UCLA fees are paid by term. Costs for housing, books, materials, etc. are not included

FAFSA

For U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents interested in receiving financial aid in the 2024-2025 year, note that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) deadline for UCLA is March 2, 2024. Applicants must complete the FAFSA by this date if they want to be eligible for all awards, work-study, and scholarships that UCLA offers. If applying after March 2, please check with the Financial Aid Office for available funding opportunities. www.financialaid.ucla.edu

DREAM Act

For non-U.S. Citizens or non-Permanent Residents who are approved to pay in-state tuition because they graduated from a high school in California; they will need to complete the California DREAM application by the March 2, 2024 deadline. The DREAM application can be accessed at California Student Aid Commission website. If applying after March 2, please check with the Financial Aid Office for available funding opportunities.

Summer Programs

A variety of robust courses that are available to high school students, college students and professionals.

TFT Online

Enroll in these summer courses taught by accomplished faculty in theater, film and television. Courses are fully online and feature documentary-style lectures produced at TFT and a dynamic online learning environment. Courses are open to visiting students in the summer.

Professional Programs

Graduate-level, non-degree programs modeled after world-renowned MFA curriculum, taught by accomplished industry professionals.
