TFT Professors Awarded Prestigious 2025 Creative Capital Grants

Department of Theater Professor Marike Splint and Department of Film, Television and Digital Media Professor Juan Pablo Gonzalez, have been honored with 2025 Creative Capital Awards, joining a distinguished cohort of artists pushing the boundaries of their disciplines and receiving grants for their innovative work.

The Creative Capital Awards recognize groundbreaking projects in Visual Arts, Technology, Performing Arts, Film/Moving Image, and Literature, supporting 49 projects by 55 artists from across the country. This year’s recipients are making an impact in fields ranging from painting and sculpture to multimedia performance, narrative film, and literature. Recipients’ projects explore relevant topics of today, from climate change to artificial intelligence, immigration to gentrification and more. These new works are poised to generate meaningful artistic, cultural, and social impact.
