Join UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT) and the Documentary Film Legal Clinic in UCLA’s School of Law this fall as we convene a powerhouse group of filmmakers, scholars, alumni, students, attorneys and cultural leaders to examine the enduring impact of the L.A. Rebellion — and highlight its ongoing relevance to the future of socially engaged filmmaking.
Summit programming will feature film screenings, scholarly presentations, Q&A sessions with directors and more. Featured speakers at the event include Kimberlé Crenshaw, UCLA Distinguished Professor of Law and Promise Institute Chair in Human Rights, Kristy Guevara Flanagan, UCLA TFT Professor and Area Head of Documentary, Juan Pablo Gonzalez, UCLA TFT Professor and Vice Chair of Production, and Ellen Scott, UCLA TFT Associate Professor and Special Advisor to the Dean on the L.A. Rebellion.

A conversation with Sabrina Naim (Founder, Evoke Media), Rostam Zafari (Founder, World Within Studios), Benjamin Flaherty (Director, SHUFFLE) and  FTVDM Professor Kristy Guevarra Flanagan, moderated by Dale Cohen. Audience Q&A to follow.

Melnitz Hall is the first building to your left. Enter through the double doors and locate the James Bridges Theater on your immediate right.
