Born in Kumasi and raised in Accra, Ghana, Bernard Boakye Kuffour’s path to filmmaking was driven by restless curiosity and a desire to bring the stories of his heritage to a global stage. Though he initially earned a degree in Biochemistry, his true passion lay in the visual language of cinema. Despite limited access to formal film training, Bernard spent years as a dedicated observer of the craft, consuming media and visiting film sets whenever the rare opportunity arose. He made history as the first Ghanaian accepted into UCLA’s MFA Producers Program. Bridging his analytical background with a deeply empathetic approach to storytelling, he focuses on the complexities of the Ghanaian-American experience and the quiet, often invisible sacrifices of the immigrant journey. Bernard is building a network of world-class collaborators to tell authentic, performance-driven stories that honor the resilience of the families who navigate them.
