Theater Minor

Part of the Theater department

The Theater minor is designed for students who wish to augment their major program of study with a series of courses that promote the study of theater as a global phenomenon for reflecting the human experience.

Students can petition to formally add the minor after they have met the following requirement:

  • Complete two theater courses from the minor list with a grade of C or better

Please follow the procedures below to declare the minor:

  • Required Lower Division Courses (6 units minimum / 10 units maximum):
    • Theater 10: Introduction Theater (required)
    • One course from the following list: Theater 15, 20, 28A, B or C, 30
  • Required Upper Division Courses (20 units minimum / 27 units maximum):
    • Theater 150: Theater Production and Performance (required)
    • One course from the following list: Theater 102A, 102B, 102C, 102E, M103A,B or E, 103F, 105, 106, 107, 108, M109, 110, 111A,B or C
  • Four courses from the following areas of focus:
    • Performance
    • Writing
    • Design
    • Education Outreach
    • Internship

Successful completion of the minor is indicated on the transcript and diploma.
