The Film, Television and Digital Media minor is designed for students who wish to augment their major program of study with a series of courses that promote the study of film, television and digital media as art forms with social, political, cultural and economic significance.
The minor consists of a choice of upper division courses that expose students to the practice and critical study of film, television and digital media.
Minor petitions will only be accepted from week three to week six of the regular academic quarters and in the month of August for summer.
- To enter the minor, students must have
- declared a major in a department other than Film, Television and Digital Media;
- be in good academic standing (minimum 2.0 grade-point average);
- have completed at least two film, television and digital media classes from the approved minor list with a grade of B or better;
- All degree requirements, including the specific requirements for the film minor, must be fulfilled within the unit maximum established by the student's major department.

A minimum of 20 units applied toward the minor requirements must be taken in addition to units applied toward the major or minor requirements in another department or program. All units applied towards the minor must be taken in residence at UCLA. Film, television and digital media courses taken at other institutions will not be applicable towards the minor.
All courses for the minor must be taken for a letter grade with an overall grade-point average of 2.0 or better.
Successful completion of the minor is indicated on the transcript and diploma.
