Annual Academy Costume Designer Panel

On the eve of the 2012 Academy Awards, Professor Deborah Landis, founding chair of the David C. Copley Center for the Study of Costume Design at the School, welcomes a stellar group of international costume designers to UCLA’s Bridges Theater for in-depth discussion of the pivotal role played by clothing in screen storytelling.

This year's event will be the 2nd installment in TFT's new annual Academy Costume Designer Panel, which brings Oscar-nominated and other industry leading costume designers to UCLA for a panel discussion. Presented by Swarovski, Dean Teri Schwartz and The David C. Copley Centrr for the Study of Costume Design, this event gives TFT students an invaluable look into some of the most successful creative minds in Hollywood.

Participants include Oscar nominees Mark Bridges (“The Artist”), Arianne Phillips (“W.E.”), Lisy Christl (“Anonymous”), Michael O'Connor (“Jane Eyre”) and Sandy Powell (“Hugo”). Additional invited guests include costume designers Leesa Evans (“Bridesmaids”), Wendy Chuck (“The Descendants”) and Deborah Scott (“Transformers,” “We Bought a Zoo”).
