Warner Bros. Hires Dan Mazeau to Write Feature for Tom Cruise

The short film “Change to Spare,” produced by Professional Program in Producing alumni Bobby Grubic, Grace Feeney and Melissa Goncalves, was a Top 10 pick of the Producers Guild of America's 2012 Weekend Shorts Challenge and was awarded an honorable mention at a screening and red carpet ceremony at Hollywood's Sunset Gower Studios. ARC Entertainment Nabs Footprint Features' 'Family Weekend'

ARC Entertainment has acquired domestic theatrical and home entertainment rights to the comedy “Family Weekend,” starring Kristin Chenoweth, Matthew Modine and Olesya Rulin. Written by Matt K. Turner and directed by Benjamin Epps, “Weekend” tells the tale of an overachieving 16-year-old who takes her parents hostage after they miss her big jump-roping competition — the latest blow that reveals her folks' lack of support and guidance. Alum Sells Horror Script, Will Direct

Independent film, television and digital media company Enderby Entertainment has inked a deal with Viva Pictures and Uncork'd Entertainment to produce four Tony-Seven Films projects in conjunction with a current horror series to include 15 films in 2013. The first film to be produced from the deal will be “Blood Shed,” written by Patrick Hasson, a 2010 Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting Competition quarterfinalist and 2011 UCLA Professional Program in Screenwriting Contest finalist, who will serve as the film's director, along with co-director Juan Carlos Saizarbortia. Professional Program alum Natasha Pincus has been nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards (Video of the Year and Best Editing) for the music video she created for Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know.” With 300,000,000 views on YouTube, the video is now one of the site's top 25 most viewed videos of all time. Uday Chopra to Produce Grace Kelly biopic

Professional Program in Producing alum Uday Chopra, CEO of YRF Entertainment, has joined with Pierre-Ange Le Pogam and his company Stone Angels to produce and finance “Grace of Monaco,” the Olivier Dahan-directed film that will star Nicole Kidman in the title role. The film begins production in the fall. Inferno will sell foreign rights in Cannes. YRF’s Jonathan Reiman and Arash Amel, who wrote the script, are executive producers. In the film, the former actress Grace Kelly asserts herself as the Princess of Monaco when she brokers peace between her adopted country and France, maneuvering a political minefield to do it.
