Your Checklist

  • Apply online to UCLA Graduate Division by December 1, 2008.
  • Print and complete the Departmental application, view the Departmental application instructions, and choose PhD in Cinema and Media Studies
  • Complete and submit the following supplemental information (All written Supporting Material must be typed and on 8-1/2 by 11 paper with at least a 12-point font. The lengths indicated are the maximum allowed. Make sure your name is on each page and that all pages of each section are stapled together. Letters of Recommendation do not have to be typed on the form (Part D.)     • Samples of Scholarly Writing. Applicants should demonstrate scholarly potential as indicated by academic achievement, advance course work, and quality scholarly writng.
      Two official copies of each college/university transcript.
    • Supplementary Forms available at UCLA Graduate Admissions.
    • Statement of Purpose available at UCLA Graduate Admissions
    • Three Letters of Recommendation available at UCLA Graduate Admissions
    • Cross-Reference Sheet, if applicable available at UCLA Graduate Admissions
      For International Applicants whose first language is not English, scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or scores from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). All international applicants must also submit the Confidential Financial Statement available at UCLA Graduate Admissions.
