According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” the Cartoon Network will continue its move into live-action feature production with “Reborn,” a contemporary retelling of the legend of King Arthur written by Travis Wright MFA ’01 (“Eagle Eye”):
“[Project] is inspired by the legend of Merlin. It is described as a modern retelling of the King Arthur tale, with archetypal characters from the legend transported to the present.Former Paramount and Universal production exec [Alli] Shearmur developed the idea with Wright before she joined Lionsgate [as president of motion pictures] in August. “Reborn” is part of Cartoon’s push in the live-action arena. More than half of the 19 new series and movies announced at the network’s upfront presentation last month are not animated.
