Acting alum graduates from support to topline status in "Operating Instructions"
The actress formerly known as Emily Rose Maier MFA ’06, who made a strong impression in supporting roles in series such as “John From Cincinnati,” “E.R.” and “Brothers and Sisters,” will headline a new drama pilot for USA Network.
USA Network has tapped Emily Rose for the lead role in “Operating Instructions,” bumping the pilot from cast-contingency status. Rose … will play a top trauma surgeon who, upon returning from a tour of duty in Iraq, finds herself working at a dysfunctional military hospital Stateside.
Project is produced by Universal Cable Prods. and Conan O’Brien’s Conaco Prods., with O’Brien, David Kissinger, Judd Pillot and John Peaslee serving as exec producers.
