Two current radio productions of the famed non-profit L.A. Theatre Works, which uses "innovative technologies" to extend awareness of the great works of the stage, have been directed by theater professor Michael Hackett .
This Saturday, October 18th, at 10 p.m., public radio outlet KPCC (89.3 FM), presents Hacket’s interpretation of Tennessee Williams’s "Summer and Smoke," starring Sarah Zimmerman, Tina Sanchez, David Selby, Armin Shimerman and Tegan West. The production will also stream for one week on KPCC’s website, and it will play on NPR stations around the country and on XM Satellite Radio’s Sonic Theater.
On Saturday October 25th at 10 p.m. KPCC will air Hackett’s production of Noel Coward’s "Blithe Spirit," starring Rosalind Ayres, Shirley Knight, Judy Geeson and Ian Ogilvy.
