UCLA Animator wins at Cannes

Joaquin Baldwin tops online competition by more than 2,000 votes

Animator Joaquin Baldwin has won the “Short Film Corner” online competition at the Festival De Cannes. He was a finalist in the same category last year with his film “Papiroflexia,” and won this year for his Annie-nominated film “Sebastian’s Voodoo”.

You can see the film by following the link to Baldwin’s web site, PixelNitrate.com. The film has also won a Student Academy Award, along with classmate Robyn Yannouko‘s “Alice’s Attic, and on May 2 it won the first place award in animation at the USA Film Festival.

Baldwin’s last two films have received more than 50 international awards to date.
