Delivering the keynote address at the New Member Induction Ceremony at Kerckhoff Hall on January 28, actress and TFT professor Sandra Caruso spoke inspiringly to the young inductees and their family and friends, and was herself welcomed as an honorary member of the organization.

“I’ve never been a member of an honor society before,” Caruso said, “and I’m delighted that it is the very prestigious Golden Key Society that has invited me. This is a great honor.”

Founded in 1977 to encourage and celebrate academic achievement, Golden Key has since expanded to include more than 365 chapters at colleges and universities in seven countries.

The ranks of Golden Key honorary members, past and present, include entertainer Bill Cosby, Anglican Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, former US President Ronald Reagan and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel.

Caruso described her talk as an exhortation “to do what you are good at and what you love. To follow your own voice. To find the artist within yourself and to be creative whatever your field of endeavor.”

She was introduced by Golden Key Honorary Member Chair Shahrzad Lalezari
