Sheetz-directed "Simpsons" episode is Emmy's best

Alum-turned professor's "Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind" wins the show its tenth "Outstanding Animated Program" nod

For the tenth time in its almost twenty years on the air, "The Simpsons" has won the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’s Emmy award as "Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour)."

The winning episode, "Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind," was directed by one of the show's regulars, UCLA Animation Workshop alumnus Chuck Sheetz '83, who is now a professor in the program.

Emmy winners for animation were announced at a separate "Creative Arts Emmys" ceremony on September 13, along with "tech" prizes in categories such as cinematography and editing. Other Bruins nominated for Emmys will be hear their results during the Primetime Emmy Awards telecast on the 21st.
