Teacher, Actor, Director and Producer, Sandra Caruso has trained with many distinguished acting teachers, including Sanford Meisner, Lee Strasberg, Uta Hagen and Milton Katselas. Ms. Caruso is the author of “The Actor’s Book of Improvisation: Dramatic Situations for the Teacher and the Actor” (Penguin) and “The Young Actor’s Book of Improvisation: Dramatic Situations from Shakespeare to Spielberg,” volumes I and II (Heinemann). She has appeared in a number of movies of the week and theater productions in Los Angeles. Ms Caruso understudied at the Geffen playhouse for “Hedda Gabler,” “Uncle Vanya” and “Wit” and for Uta Hagen in “Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks.” Ms. Caruso produced and directed “After Magritte” at the Armand Hammer Museum, “Art Alive” at the Getty Museum, “Hamilton’s Briefs,” a pilot for Aaron Spelling, “Once Upon a Midnight,” “An Encounter with Edgar Allen Poe” and “The Importance of Being Earnest” at the Hudson Theater. She has taught, lectured and directed for UCLA Extension, the Wheelock Family Theater in Boston, the Screen Actor’s Guild Conservatory, USC, Pepperdine and The American Academy of Dramatic Art in Pasadena.
