The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (UCLA TFT) is accepting applications for the position of professor of theater and performance studies in the Department of Theater. The applicant should have an established reputation with a demonstrated ability to mentor Ph.D. students in research and publication. Although the field of specialization is open, we seek someone who has an interdisciplinary focus and is conversant in different theoretical approaches to the study of performance. The scholar's own areas of research might include one or more of the following: intermedial studies; gender and sexuality in performance; hemispheric performance; sound studies; and corporeality. A robust publication record and active participation in the profession is a must. Special consideration will be given to applicants who emphasize social impact and diversity in their scholarship. The applicant will be committed to working in harmony and collaborating with the Theater faculty and the Dean to continue and strengthen the vision, mission and excellence of UCLA TFT and the Department of Theater.

We are also seeking a teacher prepared for interdisciplinary collaboration with the various areas within the Department of Theater, the Department of Film, Television and Digital Media, and across the University and professional schools.

Qualifications: Ph.D. required. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of excellence in scholarship and a national or international reputation.

Rank/Salary: We are seeking applicants who qualify for appointment to full professor in the Department of Theater. Salary will be commensurate with background and experience.
