Mary Jo DuPrey

Lecturer

Myung Hee ChoMary Jo DuPrey is the only voice teacher on the West Coast trained and experienced in the Katie Agresta Vocal Technique. This explosive vocal method has catapulted countless performers into the limelight, and it is now available in Los Angeles.

After years of training and working directly under Katie Agresta, DuPrey has also worked extensively in musical theater styles and repertoire, combining these techniques and disciplines into a vocal approach for theater actors that is unique and amazingly effective.

As a director and teacher of performance studies at UCLA, DuPrey has drawn upon both the master theories of Wesley Balk, former artistic director of the Minnesota Opera, and Anne Bogart's Viewpoints to create an approach to performance that is highly innovative and freeing for the contemporary singing actor.

Duprey is an associate producer of the feature film Nothing Special, in which she co-stars with Karen Black and Barbara Bain.
